Custom markers on song transitions

Postby SyrinxZ on Thu Oct 15, 2009 1:27 am

Hi, I'm not sure if this has already been raised, but I make muvees that often have multiple songs. While I leave most of the creative transitioning and timing up to Reveal, I would like the ability to mark a certain clip or photo in the Muvee to align with the beginning of the next song. So, it would adjust the timing in between these markers so that the beginning of the 2nd or 3rd song in the muvee starts with a particular clip/photo.

Right now, it's maddening to try to adjust the whole movie to get certain items lined up with music. A little more flexibility here would be awesome!

Thanks!

One way around this limitation is to make one muvee with each song first and then stitch them together using, say, the "Ultra Plain" style in the "Use it all" mode. Would that work for you?

I suppose it would, I'll give it a try. But ouch, I already marked up the entire second song...any way to split one muvee file into two??

This was definitely an acceptable workaround; however I did notice that it tripled the production time from having to share to HD each distinct piece, and then the quality definitely degraded after being saved and resaved into a new muvee.

So my wish list still stands! But thanks for the tip

Yes those are surely downsides to the split and stitch approach that make supporting what you want in a single muvee project worthwhile.

Quality wise, this approach works if your source quality is higher than the quality of your final production (like when it is for the web). Then you can use some higher quality intermediate format (like MJPEG) for the individual bits and then render to the final format when you stitch the bits together. ... and yeah the rendering times will be even larger if you do that :)

We've attached a script that might help you split your project file into one separate project for each music file in your project. Download, unzip and drop your Reveal project file on the .exe and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps. We've only minimally tested it.

Note: The program connects to the internet to download a tiny library it needs (11KB), so don't panic if your firewall pops a box asking you whether to allow it to connect or not. Do allow it.

SPORT TRANSITIONS !!

Postby eclipsegabp on Fri Oct 30, 2009 1:17 am

Hi,

I would like to have more soccer transitions, like a photo mounted in a soccer ball, or the photos running into the goalie !!.

But more soccer oriented themes, and other thing the music to do a more precise fade in, not wait until the last seconds to start the
next song, a way that graphically you could choose the exact position to start the next song, whith out almost a blank space in music.
