AVCHD Lite support?

Postby SonomaDeb on Sun Sep 27, 2009 7:06 pm

On the Muvee Reveal specifications page, there is a note that the AVCHD format is supported as an input format.
I have just ordered a new Lumix DMC-TS1 camera, which supports the new AVCHD Lite format. Can Muvee Reveal handle this, as well?

If not, are there plans to support this in the future?

Thanks!

From the Panasonic site,
The TS1 records HD motion images with 1280 x 720-pixel resolution while zooming in and out. It uses the AVCHD Lite (MPEG-4/H.264), which achieves higher image quality and stores less data than the conventional Motion JPEG.

Muvee already supports MPEG4 / H.264 so I would think it's not really a new format probably just a play on words from Panasonic.

More info and a better expalnation:
FYI-Another AVCHD variant

AVCHD Lite for Long Recording of HD Motion Images
In addition to Motion JPEG images*2, the TZ7 can record high-definition motion picture*3 in AVCHD Lite. It features almost doubling the recording time in HD quality compared with the conventional Motion JPEG format. The TZ7 also features Dolby Digital Stereo Creator to record high quality audio, so you can match the beautiful motion images with outstanding stereo sound.

*1 The "AVCHD" is a high definition (HD) digital video recording / playback format jointly established by Panasonic Corporation and Sony Corporation. The “AVCHD Lite” is a subset of the “AVCHD format” for HD digital video cameras with HD video recording restricted to 720P. The new “AVCHD Lite” Logo and the “AVCHD Lite” License are restricted to devices within the AVCHD Video Camera category. Digital cameras have been added to the AVCHD Video Camera category.
*The “AVCHD Lite” and the “AVCHD Lite” logo are trademarks of Panasonic Corporation and Sony Corporation.

Hi,

AVCHD Lite is a new format introduced to to work on less capable hardware. Since it is a subformat of AVCHD muvee Reveal should support it.

Please try using it with our 15 day trial version and let us know if you come across any problem.

Best regards,
Emarson
