"Our union has a strong history of supporting community and workplace efforts to end violence against women. We do this because we believe in a world based on the principles of equality and social justice. We believe it is our collective responsibility to eradicate violence against women. We do it because it is the right thing to do. One example of the CAW’s commitment to end violence against women is the Women’s Advocate Program. We can proudly say no other union has a program like this. By negotiating Women’s Advocates at our workplaces we have helped to create safer workplaces and safer communities. The goal of the Women’s Advocate Program is to provide women with support and information to community resources at a time of need.
I believe one of the best ways we can help end violence against women is to commit to negotiating the Women’s Advocate Program in our workplaces.
If you have not already negotiated a trained Women’s Advocate at your workplace, I urge you to make it a mandate. Together we can make a difference for women and end the violence." - Carol Phillips.
On that note, I created a video to help support the cause and promote the CAW Women's Advocate Program. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks, Tim.
I created the video on widescreen, so some lettering might be cut off in the video, but you get the point....
