Muvee Reveal - A "what-happen-to-my-captions" problem

Postby Jedi135 on Thu Nov 05, 2009 3:49 am

I have developed (with a Muvee Reveal) a fairly large-sized muvee (with about 250 plus photos, collages & printed pages; with 7-8 songs in the background; almost all of the slides/photos captioned; and a "Hexplode" style. I was personally pleased with my production. I saved my "project" and put the muvee aside (untouched) for about a month (to attend to some other pressing offline business).

Lo and behold ... when I next re-played my muvee production, everything was as I left a month before ... photos, music, photo sequencing, Hexplode ...
EXCEPT ... the photo captions were ALL GONE! HORRORS! It took a lot of hours to write those captions. This is very strange and perflexing ... and would appreciate any clues/suggestions from anybody on how to retrieve those captions and/or prevent the loss of future captions to affix. Has this issue happened to another Muvee user? The captions were each 2-3 liners. Are the captions kept by Muvee in another file? Does Muvee have a "weakness" with captions?

(FYI. I am using an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC w/ a Vista OS, practiacally brand new).

Hi Jedi135,

May I know if you did saved the captions 1 month ago? You can check the information whether you have saved the caption from the location below:

C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\muvee Technologies\UserDscrp

This particular link is actually hidden, kindly follow the steps below to unhide the hidden folders:

1.) Open Windows Explorer
2.) Click on "Organize" --> "Folders and search Option"
3.) This will have "Folder Options" window pop up. Go to "View" tab
4.) Under "Hidden files and folders" ask the user to choose "Show hidden files, folders and drives"
5.) Click on "Apply" and "Apply to Folders"
6.) Navigate to the above mention linked, you will be able to see. If there's .mpd files inside the folder, it means that you actually saved the captions on to the pictures (and this will be our bug). If the .mpd files are not shown, meaning the captions were not saved 1month ago.
