Updating your graphics card driver for Windows 7

Postby yihyeong on Thu Oct 22, 2009 2:41 am

Hi All,

When you are trying to run Reveal on Windows 7, please make sure that you are using the latest graphics card driver.

We have published the instructions at:
http://www.muvee.com/en/support/styles/gpudriver

(choose "Windows 7" from the page above)

Hope it helps!

I have run the "Update Driver Software"

It come back saying - that the driver is up to date.

What can I try now?

I have had NOTHING but problems with this - however - there was no problem ordering this - and gather my CC information.

I have spent every bit of 20 hours since I bought this (April 23rd 2010) and I have still not been able to do ANYTHING!!!

Please respond ASAP.... as i bought this so i could make an End of Year video for my daughter's High School graduation - and that day is FAST approching.

Regards -

Hi Fred,

We’re really sorry to hear that you're having such trouble using our software.

We're determined to solve this problem, but I'm afraid we need to ask you for a little help. Unfortunately, software hang/crash is a tough area to debug because it's very dependent on your PC: your DVD hardware, the other software you've installed, even the discs you're using. The difficulty we face is that we've been testing the program extensively on lots of different PC's and it works fine, so up to now we can't figure out why it's not working for you.

Would you be prepared to help? We'll ask you to generate some "logfiles" that hopefully will tell us what's going wrong on your PC and then send them to us. (Don’t worry: this isn't hard and only takes a few minutes. We’ll walk you through the process step-by-step. And the logfiles don't contain any personal data from your PC.)

If you're prepared to do this, please drop me an email : patrick at muvee dot com. Thanks in advance! And again, my sincere apologies that you're having problems with our product.

Patrick - thanks for sending the 'log file' instructions... unfortunately - I can not get to the point of taking the snapshot because when I double click the "muveeReveal" icon... 2 things - the same two things always happe.

1. I get the "Auto-Recovery" message. It asks if I would like to retreive the last session.

No matter which of the 3 available choices i chose (Yes / No / Generate error log and submit) the same thing happens. That small screen disappears - leaving the 'main' screen completely visable - however...

2. The main screen NEVER fully loads. I can not take a snapshot for you until it loads. What does happen is that at some point - a white film - covers the entire 'main' screen page. I have waited hours for it to go away. It doesn't. I have to then to through Task Manager to close the entire program and start all over again.

Standing by - waiting further directions.

PS - Patrick - I REALLY do appreciate you working with me. Even if it can not be fixed - at least you are tryng to help me.

Hi Ccmuss,

Thank you for sending your log files with us! muvee Reveal has been extensively tested, however it is built with very high dependency on graphics card, hardware, etc. Based on the dxdiag file the you have sent, it shows that your graphics card needs to be updated to do its rendering jobs. May we ask you to update your graphics card driver from the link below and reinstall muvee Reveal.

Thanks Patrick,

I will try that this PM. I did an uninstall / reinstall last night and got it working under ver 7, and I did check the driver before the re-install, but Win 7 alleged that i was OK in that dept. The reinstall did seem to work OK under 7 on the brief test I ran with a short movie.

Should I uninstall again, update graphics driver, and reinstall 7, and then use link for 8? Or do I bypass 7 and go straight to the 8 link?

Sorry - just wnat to make sure I have my order of ops correct - thanks!

You can update your graphics card driver and then use the link for muvee 8.
