As a Reveal user since day 1, I'm happy to see the advancements in the latest version, Reveal X. But I notice that a couple of features have (apparenly) been removed since Reveal 8. They may look minor at first glance, but they really add to the usability (and enjoyment) of making muvees.
- #1: All photos are displayed as square thumbnails in Reveal workspace. In the previous release, the photos were displayed in their original format--this made it easy to identity the portrait shots and panoramas that I like to add to my muvees. For those pictures, I would manually calibrate the MagicSpot and tweak the minimum display time. In Reveal X, everything is blown up to fit a square thumbnail--this makes it very difficult to identify those pictures and slows down my muvee making. It would be nice to have a preference setting to display original or square thumbnails.
- #2: In the previous version, you could click a "Play" button to see how the zooming effect would look like for a photo. This is extremely helpful if you prefer to manually calibrate the MagicSpot, to see if it zooms like you expect. This button was inexplicably removed in Reveal X--why? Not being able to preview my MagicSpots feels like I'm just guessing at things. (Yes, I can preview the entire muvee, but it's not the same.) [/*]
Finally, this is not a missing feature, but one that would be extremely handy: in the mode used to define MagicSpot/MagicMoments, add a caption, etc., can you add a "Delete" button? Often I'm looking at my images and videos in this mode and decide that I don't want it in my muvee. But to remove it, I must click [OK] to exit that mode, delete, then reenter the mode. That becomes a hassle.
Thanks again for listening--I hope some of these suggestions can make it into a future build!
