How do you select what video you want to use

Postby pnelsonsr on Sat Mar 26, 2011 12:34 am

This may be the same as others have asked and if so I continue so that I can help highlight it.

I have about 35 minutes of HD video in about 100 MP4 files. I tried using the magicmoments tools to exclude things I don't want included, but really everything else I want included. Reveal seems to crop out lots of areas of video that I do not want it to crop out. I want what is not excluded, INCLUDED. I then will use Highlighted parts when I really want them Highlighted. It seems that this can kind of be controlled because as I change the styles, the length of my muvee changes. The muvee length and video selected also changes when I put in different songs.

So is there a way to get a theme to take/use all Included (NON-excluded) video?

If not this should be an option. As in my above example, my video is of a high school track meet and Reveal crops out most of the Finish Line events. The only reason I can think this happens is that the Finish Line events happen near the end of most files. It makes the muvee awful.

There is a theme called "keep it all" for Muvee AutoProducer which does just that. I don't see an equal one in Reveal. You might try the "Ultra Plain" theme in Reveal.

The other thing to note with themes is the more "aggressive" you set them (in theme settings) the more liberty Reveal takes is making cuts and transitions (working as designed), so also try setting the themes to very slow and less aggressive.

Also in Personalization make sure to set "play video at original speed, don't slow or speed up".

OK not exactly what I wanted to hear but...

I'ved started looking at creating a Style at http://code.google.com/p/muvee-style-authoring/ to see if this is something I can manipulate. I really don't want to create my own, but if this is the only choice then I have to try or stop using Reveal.

One other important thing I forgot to mention in my post above: Also in the Personalize section (lower right of screen), under Duration, make sure you select "use all photos & video", this will do just that, but will also respect any MagicMoments "exclude" sections. Note however, that if you use a fast paced theme, even though it will use all video it will cut/dissolve during/between clips -- hence the theme Plain.
