Version 8 looks nice. But I just purchased version 7 last month and I feel a little gouged that I need to pay an additional $20 to upgrade so soon after my purchase date. Many software companies offer free upgrades to recent purchasers - is Muvee one of them?

Well I was only able to spend a few minutes with reveal 8, and my initial impression is I can see and FEEL the difference. I hope to spend more time with it ASAP.

Paying a fee, even discounted, to upgrade 45 day old software doesn't quite seem right. Adobe gives 90-120 days, MS announces 6-8 months in advance that people who buy now will get a free upgrade.

I sure like the Muvee software, but I'm extremely underwhelmed by the company and its attitudes towards the people who purchase the software.

Deciding how to handle payments for upgrades is always a tricky issue for software companies and wherever we draw a line in the sand with regards to a free upgrade window we will inevitably disappoint some customers who bought the latest product in the period just before that date is set. Certainly the development cycles of of some of the products of the companies that you mention can be long - in some cases 3 years or more and so longer upgrade windows are probably more relevant in those circumstances. For us at muvee our development cycles are very much shorter with our product enhancements coming out in a much shorter timespan.
However with the discount code I hope that you will agree with DanBo that muvee Reveal 8 is a big step up, great value and well worth spending the extra $9.95 to have the very latest version. Also keep an eye out for our other email mailers where we often have discount offers on our styles. The above post was very well stated. All I can say is even at the full retail price reveal 8 is a great bang for the buck.
I have software that cost hundreds more and I find Muvee my choice as there is hardly any learning curve and the results are excellent, fast, simple and with a professional look. reveal 8 is a milestone for MUVEE... thanks

I just received today (19 Dec, 2009) the email announcing the relaese of Reveal ver. 8. I just saw here that there was a special for current owners of verion 7 for $9.95 that expired four days ago. Since I just received the email today, can I still get today the upgrade to ver. 8 for $9.95, please, since I wasn´t notified on time?
