Unsupported Files

Postby crazyquay on Sat Sep 10, 2011 2:48 am

Product: muvee Reveal X
Product Build Number: 2558
Operating System: Windows 7 x64

Just upgraded to X version. When I open a project created under v8, not all photos are displayed -- instead a place marker is shown and when I click on it a dialogue box pops up saying 'unsupported files detected. Issues are as follows:

1. This project worked perfectly in v8 -- all photos displayed correctly in thumbnail view and when playing the muvee.
2. The error message doesn't include a file name so there's no easy way to identify the photo. Viewing the RVL file seems to be to only way to identify the problem file(s).
3. The 'Unsupported FIles' dialogue box gives you 2 choices -- remove files or close. Remove action eliminates unsupported thumbnails but you can't subsequently view project unless you exit/save from muvee first.
4. Removing unsupported files also deletes music track references when these are flagged as missing.
5. The 'unsupported files' work fine when re-added to the original project.

Also, the Smooth style reports as 'outdated' and an online update is not available.

Hi crazyquay,

That's because of the removal of the Enhance photo features‏ in Reveal X.

I've just opened in Reveal X a project made recently with Reveal 8 in which I used the Enhance photo features on many of my pictures and I can confirm by myself your words on the above post about these "Unsupported Files" :(

So it means that projects made with Reveal 8 won't work properly in Reveal X without this important feaure..

Regards,
Francis Buiza

Hi Crazyquay,

Sorry for the delay. May we know if you upgraded muvee Reveal X through muvee Reveal 8 update button? Can you please check if ImageAnalyserDll.dll is present in this folder : C:\Program Files\Common Files\muvee Technologies\071203. Are you able to make a muvee using videos and music only? Can you please drop me an email at patrick at muvee dot com. Thanks!

To answer your questions:

1. I did not upgrade to X with the update option in Reveal 8. I received an email from you folks offering the upgrade which included a link to a process that asked for payment then provided a download link. No version of Reveal was running when I ran the download -- muveeRevealX_9.0.1.20258_2558.exe. There were no error messages during the upgrade process other than notification that my styles were outdated.

2. The ImageAnalyserDll.DLL file is present but in directory c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\muvee Technologies\071203\. Keep in mind that I am using a 64bit version of Windows.

3. I can make a new project just fine. Its the issues with existing v8 projects that concerns me and the loss of functionality.

I've also responded via email.

Hi Francis,

This issue is caused by the enhancements dlls have been removed from the installer and Reveal X is unable to reproduce the enhanced images but we're fixing it so that you can still import enhanced photos in Reveal X. We'll let you know soon!

To workaround this issue, please go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\muvee Technologies\071203 and copy some Dll files(ImageAnalyserDll.dll, opencv_core220.dll, opencv_highgui220.dll, opencv_imgproc220.dll, and opencv_objdetect220.dll) into C:\Program Files\muvee Technologies\muvee Reveal.
