Anyone successfully installed Reveal X on Parallels on mac??

Postby vorstera on Sat Nov 16, 2013 6:18 pm

I've been a Muvee user for many years and have continued to put up with the frequent crashes and heartbreaking file corruptions that have seen me lose DAYS of my life ........all because I've never found anything that does quite what Muvee does (I just wish the guys would get some proper funding and build something that worked flawlessly .........).

But I digress - as the post says - has anyone successfully installed Muvee Reveal X on parallels desktop 9 on a mac?

I've just upgraded from a windows PC to a Macbook Pro and would love to completely walk away from the PC, but Muvee works on it (well, most of the time ....) - so I bought Parallels Desktop 9 and installed a clean Windows 7 build - and installed Muvee as the very first application into the clean environment - unfortunately I got a raft of DLL registration errors right upfront so the installation failed.

I'm curious as to what setup has worked for anyone?

Thanks

Hi Vorstera,

Firstly I'm really sorry about all the issues you've had with muvee Reveal X. We've been ironing out all those nasty bugs over the years and hope that your experience with the software has been slowly improving.

Concerning the main issue you posted about, namely Parallels, I regret to inform you that it is not possible to use muvee via Parallels. I have never used this software before so I googled it to find out what it was about and found this post:

muvee Reveal X makes a heavy use of OpenGL and it seems parallels does not allow you access to your graphics card.

Your best bet is to use Boot Camp on the mac to install windows and muvee on a small partition.

I hope this helps.
