Muvee Reveal 8 and uploading from Hd camcorder

Hi, I am new to this software and was excited about creating in muvee Reveal. I want to import fom my JVC Hdd Eveio camera but the Reveal states that the .mod format is not supported. Are movies from the JVC not supported? If they are is there a feature that I need to change on my Reveal program? Help!
